Tin Man

Tin Man

The Wizard of Oz has at long last been turned right side up (on the big screen that is; because of course Oz became something good with Wicked on the stage). In Tin Man the O.Z. is the true home as we know it ought to be, as we all know in our bones and skin and heart and stomach that Kansas should never be more real than Oz. The Wizard of Oz tries to convince us of the absurd notion that the sun exists because of the shadow, that the sun is false and the shadow is what’s really real. But we all know the shadow proves the sunshine not the other way around. Done with Myth-shattering charlatans, Tin Man re-awakens our deep memory and gives us all heart. This three-part mini-series is excellent, well acted and beautifully created.
